As I mentioned, I recorded the entire mediumwave (AM broadcast) band from my North Carolina home with a WinRadio Excalibur on August 21 (day of the eclipse). After receiving Ivan’s message last night, I played back my recording and moved the time forward to around the moment of totality.

The mediumwave band was hopping! Several stations were competing for 1360 kHz with eclipse-enhanced propagation. There were two large signals flanking 1360 as well. I thought I would never hear WNAH, but as I listened, their ID in CW (Morse Code) popped out of the signal mix. Here’s a short recording of the first station ID I received around 2:26 PM EDT (1826 UTC): True: this is rough audio, but it always amazes me how CW can so effectively punch through noise. Nice touch, WNAH!
WNAH’s signal strength increased with time, but so did the competing signals on 1360 kHz. Within 10 minutes, about the time of totality in western North Carolina, WNAH was 40% stronger. I did submit my recording and notes to WNAH last night.
Due to my schedule, I haven’t had any meaningful time to go over my eclipse spectrum recordings. Indeed, I think I’ll need several dedicated days to review them. While searching for WNAH’s signal, I could see a significant difference in propagation on the waterfall display within a 26 minute span of time: 14:15 EDT 14:41 EDT Note that local time of totality was 14:36 EDT. I made spectrum recordings spanning 0-2 MHz, 6-8 MHz and 13.5-15 MHz.

Bill I monitored 1070 kHz during the eclipse here in Kensington, MD. Normally in summer daylight I am able to hear only a faint signal from the travelers advisory network station 10 miles or so from my QTH. And this was the case on the day of the eclipse as well. Shortly after 2:30 p.m.
EDT 1070 came alive with a number of relatively weak signals. Signals increased in strength over the next twenty minutes, but I wasn’t able to ID any of them. At about 2:55 p.m.
WNCT in Greenville, NC became dominant. They were the only station I was able to ID.

Perhaps one of the best software apps I’ve come across is the XYplorer File Manager by Donald Lessau, who combines the best of both worlds by offering a true Lifetime license to XYplorer, but providing a donation page for those of us who donate small amounts each month to independent developers.
Although there are often two or more apps within each broad category, each app is worthy and it’s better to let the user decide which may be best for them. All screenshots are captured using Screenshot Captor by DonationCoder.com. All programs were tested on a 64-bit Intel Quad-core chip under either a GNU/Linux distro or Microsoft Vista. Kalo pake celana jeans, dilipet sampe pas dibawah dengkul, pake slayer, kemeja flanel kotak-kotak yang dikancingin cuman satu paling atas, sambilnenteng-nenteng tas sekolahan buatan JayaGiri atauAlpina. Pernah punya sepeda BMX yang ditinggiin setiang listrik.

Bosan nungguin gerhana matahari total yg ternyata lamanya minta ampun. Ikut menjadi peserta Pilot Project, serta mempromosikan Kesegaran Jasmani.
Banyak mobil yang bannya di ceperin trus ada stiker tulisannya “Turbo” atau “Mugen Power”. Pernah punya sepatu merek Lotto atau Panther. Pernah dapet pembagian Susu Ovaltine atau Milo disekolah, gratis loh. Channel TV cuman TVRI doang. Kalo hari minggu nonton “Little House On The Prairie”.
Anak-anak cewek pada demen sama produknya Sanrio, Hello Kitty, My Melody, Little Twin Star, etc. Pernah ngeliat “S!
Epatu Bandung” model-model ‘All-Star’ dipenuhi dengan label-label pakaian tapi warnanya luntur kalo dicuci ditambah aksesori tali-tali sepatu yang nggak kalah ajaib warna dan motifnya. Kalo pake celana jeans, dilipet sampe pas dibawah dengkul, pake slayer, kemeja flanel kotak-kotak yang dikancingin cuman satu paling atas, sambilnenteng-nenteng tas sekolahan buatan JayaGiri atauAlpina. Pernah punya sepeda BMX yang ditinggiin setiang listrik. Minimal pernah temenan sama yang punya. Masih hapal nama tokoh2 di film si Unyil.
Di kepalanya masih terngiang-ngiang lagu ‘Suzanna’-nya The Art Company. Pernah nongkrongin video rental untuk dapetin episode terbaru serial Voltus atau Goshogun.
Pernah nyewa film Ikkyu San di video rental dari no. 1-5, tapi abis itu kecewa s! Oalnya nomer selanjutnya kagak diproduksi lagi.
Pernah ikut-ikutan BreakDance dan maen Sepatu Roda 26. Nonton The Legend of Condor Heroes di videotape yg berformat BETA 27. Pernah ngedengerin lagu ‘Madu dan Racun’-nya Ari Wibowo ama Kugadaikan Cintaku’ nya Gombloh 28. Demen ama drama Losmen, Rumah Masa Depan. Dipinggiran jalan suka ada coretan Destroyer,Tee-Ice, dsb.
Suka ama klip musik video Top Pop 10, 15, dst. Rambut John Taylor duran-duran digandrungin banget. Ngadu biji asem, sampe dibakar biar kuat asemnya.
Main kwartet kalo pulang sekolah. Kalo’nggak pake’ abonemen, bayarnya bisa Rp.
Punya buku kenangan yang kebanyakan ngisinya diakhiri dengan “Don’tforget to r emember.” 36. Hafal lagu-lagunya Queen. Gandrung sama grup Chaseiro-nya Chandra Darusman and PSP (Pancaran Sinar Petromax ), grup dangdut anak! Suka pake tatto bonus dari lolipop chuppa chups. Kalo nonton konser, yang manggung perform repertoar band panutan, kayak Cockpit/Fredy Tamaela jadi Genesis/Phil Collins, Ikang jadi Rod Stewart (suaranya diserak-serakin sampe jadi serak beneran).
Saben taon kudu nyari tiket Guruh & Swara Mahardikanya. Fariz RM masih nggebuk drum.
Hafal kata2nya semua lagu dari kaset Sabda Alamnya Chrisye, bahkan yg aneh2 dan sok Kawi (karangan Guruh). Taman Kodok sentra breakdance. Pernah dipaksa study tour ke TMII dan kudu bikin karya tulis padahal nongkrongnya di tukang teh botol. Baca komiknya Trigan di majalah Hai.
Rambutnya di-punk rock, rada jriwis2 kayak KimWilde tapi ada bagian yg panjang dikepang kecil2 kayak Adam Ant terusdijepit / digantungin aksesori kecil2 berwarna-warni. Bajunya lengen pendek tapi digulung2 lagi kayak preman, padahal nggak ada ototnya. Sempet ikut panik waktu ada “sanering” kecil2an, waktu nilai rupiah sempet jeblok. Padahal nggak ngaruh sama uangjajan.
Tetep aja nggak cukup. Nonton Sarinah kebakaran, soalnya jaman dulu belom musim bakar2an yg gede2. Sempet nangis waktu dinosaurus temennya kumkum mati (film seri kartun).
